Local Independent Deputy, Denis Naughten, is encouraging the public to avail of vaccination as 39 local pharmacies offer the Janssen single dose Covid-19 vaccine free of charg to people aged 18 to 34 and 50 or over.
“Pharmacies in Athlone, South Roscommon and East Galway are now taking vaccination appointments and I would strongly advise all those in the relevant age cohorts to avail of this opportunity.
“We are now in a race against time to try to get as many people vaccinated as possible before there is a significant outbreak of the Delta variant of the Covid-19 virus.
“We have already seen that the reopening of our economy has been stalled due to the Delta variant and it is important that as many people as possible avail of vaccination here as soon as it becomes available to them,” Deputy Naughten asserted.
