Athlone Cricket Club is planning to expand its activities with the help of Cricket Ireland’s recently appointed Midlands Development Officer, Bernard O’Mara.
The club, which will enter three senior teams in the Leinster League competitions for the 2021 season, is looking to establish a development team for secondary school students and to introduce a fun-based format through the primary schools. Both boys and girls will be encouraged to participate.
The game of cricket has increased in popularity due to the success of the national team and to cement its future, the club is encouraging anyone interested in trying a new and exciting sport during the summer holidays to get in touch.
