Return to play protocols noted as Moate Golf Club prepares to reopen

Prior to the much anticipated return off tee to green action on Monday, April 26, Moate Golf Club has detailed a number of protocols for player adherence which have been issued by Golf Ireland.

Initially (as expected ) only fully paid-up members can play golf. Green fee bookings are not to be accepted until further advised by Golf Ireland.

No organised social gatherings, of any size, are permitted at golf facilities. All golf activities should be on a “arrive-play-depart without delay” basis.

Bunkers shall be rake less.

Flagsticks must remain in the hole.

Whether playing in two, three or fourballs players should be from no more than two households

Tee times must be booked in advance via BRS and no ‘walk ups’ will be allowed.

And in a change for Moate Golf Club – cards counting for handicaps (competitions or casual ) must be filled in and signed by the marker who should clearly write the players name on the card also. No swapping cards.

Timesheets

There has been some enquiries as to when the BRS will open up as the resumption of play date edges closer.

The current plan is to open the April 26 booking sheet on April 19, booking for April 27 on April 20 and so on for the first few days at least as play on the course is expected to be very busy.

The playing process will be three balls every nine minutes for now but this will be subject to ongoing monitoring and further guidance from Golf Ireland.

This and any further instructions will be emailed to all fully paid-up members well in advance of April 26.
