Despite the persistent pandemic presence and its detrimental impact upon local businesses, The Dock House is a welcome addition to Athlone’s ever expanding coffee tasting choice.
Under the ownership of Hannah Donovan and Shane Lawless, The Dock House, located on Pump Lane Corner in Irishtown, was recently opened by Athlone Town Mayor, Cllr Aengus O’Rourke.
“It was a great pleasure to open Athlone’s newest coffee shop in recent times. The Dock House is located in Irishtown, on Pump Lane corner. I want to wish the owners Hannah Donovan and Shane Lawless the very best of luck in their new venture. They converted an office space into a very tastefully appointed coffee shop in a great location in the heart of town.
“While restrictions are in place they are only offering a take-out service at this time, but watch this space because they have big plans and will be expanding their product offering in due course.
“It is great to see a young enthusiastic couple taking on a new business challenge despite all the restrictions in place at this point in time. They are to be congratulated for their endeavour and ambition.
“I am sure they will be rewarded with good support from the coffee drinking public. With an eye on expanding their brand, Shane and Hannah are ambitious for the future and I wish them the very best of luck in all they do,” Cllr O’Rourke remarked.
