Athlone Musical Society has paid tribute to Honorary Life Member and former vice-chairperson, Tony Dalton, following his passing in recent times.
“Athlone Musical Society wish to express its deepest sadness at the passing of Tony Dalton, our current Vice-Chairperson, Honorary Life Member and, above all, our dear friend.
“Tony was an integral part of the Society for over 30 years, dedicating so much of his time to the society both on and off stage. Tony brought humour and a smile to every committee meeting and was a constant support to us all. Tony regularly starred in productions down the years, forming many friendships along the way.
“Even when Tony faced adversity, he never let the society down and continued to work to ensure its continuing success. We are so thankful for his commitment and dedication over the years. We are all grateful to have known our friend Tony; his loss will be felt throughout the society.
“We offer our deepest condolences to Tony’s wife, Veronica (our Treasurer ) and to Tony’s children, Ian and Adam, his daughter-in-law- Rebeccah as well as his wider family and friends at this sad time. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.”
