Glasson native aims for country and western singing success

Glasson native, Tilly Dawson-Stanley, is one of six hopefuls aspiring for success in the new series of Glór Tíre, the reality based talent search for Ireland's newest country and western singing sensation, which returned to TG4 on Tuesday night.

Under the expert guidance of Cliona Hagan, Tilly will strive to attain the end of series coveted singing crown on the popular programme which will run for a twelve week period.

Tilly is joined on the programme by Ballinasloe native, Emma Donohoe. Emma, who is presently studying at Athlone Institute of Technology, is mentored by Mike Denver and her musical influences include Philomena Begley, Billy Jo Spears, Trudi Lalor, Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris.

Akin to Tilly will be hoping to make a positive country and western singing impact as the series progresses.

Glór Tíre takes place in the Quays in Galway city and is presented by Aoife Ni Thuairisg and Seamus O Scanlain, featuring judges John Creedon, Caitriona Ni Shuilleabhain and Jo Ni Cheide, who advise and guide each of the six participants.

Viewers decide who will remain in the competition each week and can vote by downloading the Glór Tíre app.

Glór Tíre airs each Tuesday night on TG4 at 9.30pm.
