Electric Mustang Mach-E set for Ireland mid-2021

Ford’s new all-electric Mustang Mach-E is scheduled to arrive in Ireland mid-2021, with pricing yet to be announced.

The first-ever SUV member of the Mustang family, the Mach-E is also the first fully electric car Ford has developed from the ground up.

Ford claims the Mustang Mach-E’s energy-efficient powertrain delivers up to 610km of all electric driving, while it says 0-100 km/h takes just 3.7 seconds thanks to its 487 HP engine.

The electric SUV is available with a choice of single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive.

When it comes to charging, Ford says the Mustang Mach-E comes with a free home charge point. Available in 7.4 kW and 11 kW versions, the wall-mounted charger can top up the Mustang Mach-E battery from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in approximately six hours, according to Ford.

Inside, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto both feature as standard, along with a 15.5-inch full HD touch display. A wireless charging pad for smartphones also comes as standard.

The Mustang Mach-E has a cargo space of 1,420 litres with the rear seats down.
