MG returns to Irish market with plug-in models only

MG Motor is returning to the Irish market, with a range of cars consisting of plug-in models only, which is a first for the brand.

Domestic operations will be handled by privately owned Irish distributor Frank Keane Group, which has been involved in the sale of multiple automotive brands in the country for over 50 years.

The new distributor says that MG Motor brand promises electrified motoring with a line-up of high quality and affordable electric and plug-in hybrid cars starting with the MG ZS EV, which will offer a similar seven-year warranty as MG offers in the UK.

This ZS EV model offers five star Euro NCAP safety and MG claims it has high levels of technology, along with an MG Pilot suite of driver aids, three driving modes, and a KERS system to recapture energy through regenerative braking. It also claims a 260km WLTP certified range.

The plug-in line-up includes a B-segment SUV, as well as what MG describes as Ireland’s first truly affordable, family friendly electric car.

The first MG ZS EVs will arrive in Ireland this month (November ) for immediate sale, followed by the all new MG5 EV, which is a C-segment wagon and MG HS Plug-in, a C-segment hybrid SUV.
