Local Fine Gael Councillor, John Dolan, has welcomed the recent work on the Muckenagh road.
"I am delighted to witness the works to raise and improve the Muckenagh road take place this week. This road was left impassable during recent flooding events and the surface of the road had also worsened. Locals had requested me to try make relevant progress with these road improvements as a matter of urgency.
"I had a motion before a recent District meeting looking for the road improvements to be carried out and I also contacted Minister for OPW, Patrick O’Donovan, through local Minister, Peter Burke, with €200,000 being secured to complete the works.
"Hopefully, this latest work will both improve access during flooding and will also improve the safety of the road. I want to thank the Council staff and the contractors for the excellent job now completed," Cllr. Dolan asserted.
