Celebrating a milestone fifth business birthday this week, Hairloom, has made vast strides within the hairdressing industry since first opening its doors on John Broderick Street in the heart of Athlone.
Under the expert proprietor guidance of Serena Norton, Hairloom was nominated for 'Salon of the Year' in 2018 and continues to provide a specialised hairdressing service to its wealth of loyal clients.
Embracing essential core values, Serena detailed the rewarding experience which accompanies regular client interactions and the progression of the business.
"Opening and enhancing our Wella professional salon has been extremely rewarding to date and we are continuously striving to excel within the hairdressing industry.
"From a personal perspective, I am now a Wella master colour expert, the highest accreditation one can achieve, while my colleague, Jenny, is an expert with regard to keratin bonds and tapes. The salon is also a specialist in platinum extensions, while we also offer a nioxin hair growth and scalp care service to our clients," Serena remarked.
Working in tandem with Hairloom, Serena will further co-own Nala Hair Academy, which will operate in Athlone from spring of next year.
"I shall co-own the company when it opens in spring of next year. Having completed a Vtct assessor and tutor award, I am delighted to say that Nala Hair Academy will bring education to another level in 2021 and beyond. Vtct is a highly recognised award and Nala Hair Academy will be hosting courses with vtct certified awards," Serena added.
Noting the present Covid-19 environment, Serena stressed that Hairloom is operating in line with all relevant public health and safety guideline and is looking forward to welcoming clients upon the hopeful reopening of the salon in the first week of December.
"I want to reassure clients that Hairloom is operating a very safe and controlled environment during these unprecedented times. We are a 12 chair salon so we have much space to allow for appropriate social distancing and I look forward to providing continued custom when we hopefully reopen in December," Serena commented.
Despite its present closure due to Level 5 restrictions, Serena stated that clients can avail of a delivery and click and collect service at www.hairloom.ie, while bookings for salon appointments upon reopening on December 1 can also be made online.
