Colourtrend, Ireland’s iconic paint brand, has launched a stunning new palette featuring 28 new shades, as part of their 2020 Contemporary Collection.
Updated every three to four years to evolve with trends in colour and modern life, the Contemporary Collection’s new shades are a mix of luxurious neutrals and vibrant colours, split across four inherently Irish themes.
Taking inspiration from elements of modern Ireland, the four themes consist of The Irish Landscape, Architectural Ireland, Cultural Ireland and Nostalgic Ireland. Whether it’s to inspire, calm or excite, each colour has a purpose and a story, capturing one or more of these themes, all while celebrating the unappreciated role of colour in our everyday life.
“We are delighted to finally launch the 28 new shades to our Contemporary Collection. The new shades featured are inspired by our first love, Ireland, but also created with people at the core. Looking at what matters most to the people that inhabit a space. Researching the growing trends across fashion, interiors and design we developed a palette that we are incredibly proud of and one that will resonate with consumers,” General Paints Group Head of Marketing, Edel Nicholson, commented on the Colourtrend 2020 Contemporary Collection launch.
Established in 1953, Colourtrend is the original Irish paint brand that was inspired by the elusive colours of the Irish landscape: simple and mysterious, every day and precious. From the hues of Ireland’s earth and sky and waters, to its wild flora and native fauna. The inspiration for the new Contemporary Collection palette remains true to these brand fundamentals – Infinite Colour from Ireland – yet reflects Ireland’s ever-changing landscape and interiors culture.
“Now more than ever, design and nostalgia are playing an integral part of people’s lives in their homes. We are working towards a faster pace and more digitally driven space. 2020 has meant people are not only living in their homes but working, learning and entertaining, so we are spending a lot more time at home - expecting a lot more from our homes. Therefore the colours we put into our homes and spaces are now more important than ever,” Edel added.
With 2020 forcing people to spend more time at home and around Ireland, people have fallen back in love with the country and colours of Ireland that they may have started to take for granted. Colourtrend’s 2020 Contemporary Collection looks to celebrate that beauty and colour. Bring the beauty of Ireland into your home and enjoy the energy it brings with the new collection from Colourtrend. ‘Trends show that Sea greens, muted heathers and skin tone terracotta’s are significant colours to watch out for this season,’ commented Edel.
The 28 new luxurious shades join Colourtrend’s iconic Contemporary Collection and are available in three interior finishes; interior matt, ceramic matt and soft sheen, in addition to three trim finishes; eggshell, satin and gloss.
Colourtrend’s new Contemporary Collection is now available at www.colourtrend.ie and is available from Colourtrend stores and key stockists nationwide. Prices range from €75.00 - €82.50 per 5 litres.
