An Post has re-issued the popular 2020 Love stamp booklet, with extra sparkle for customers.
The ten stamp booklet, valued at €10 is on sale at €8 for to help keep people connected during the recovery from COVID-19, while also helping to raise funds for the Women’s Aid and ISPCC Childline charities.
An Post will make a €1 donation on behalf of customers for each Love stamp booklet sold between now and August 17th. Love stamp booklets, designed by Oonagh Young of Design HQ are available in all post offices and online at anpost.com/shop .
While we are still experiencing changes in our lives with social distancing and a phased return to work and day-to-day living, An Post asked customers what has carried them through so far. In a recent ‘Send Love’ survey over half of people report their mainstay in getting through COVID-19 is Staying Connected (58 percent ).
When it comes to the people we have made the biggest effort to stay in special contact with, it’s Family who top the table (63 percent ) and Friends (25 percent ) who’ve helped us through the time alone, the long days or the everyday madness of running lives from home.
“Our #sendlove campaign is about bringing the positives of life to the forefront again, whether welcoming a new baby, best wishes for a wedding or a Thank You card. Posting a letter, card or parcel are tangible ways of making and maintaining meaningful connections and being present at key moments in the lives of those who mean the most to us. An Post is also making a donation on behalf of customers, through the sale of these stamps, to the ongoing work of Women’s Aid and ISPCC Childline, which has proven to be even more essential during the pandemic,” Garrett Bridgeman, Managing Director, An Post Mails and Parcels, commented.
The #sendlove campaign strikes a chord with customers, with over half of people choosing to make contact by card, letter and postcard (52 percent ) or a phone conversation (32 percent ) over the past few months, these being perceived as the next best thing to being together.
And what are people doing with the freedoms we have? Supporting everything they said about staying connected, an overwhelming majority of people are visiting with family (74 percent ) to celebrate key moments missed including Birthdays and Holy Communions. Customers also specifically mention making a beeline for the playground, heading to church to give thanks, going on a first date, visiting a first grandchild or a parent in a nursing home, holidaying at home and lots and lots of hugs!
