Westmeath libraries introduce new call and collect service

Both Athlone and Moate libraries have introduced a new ‘Call and Collect’ service in line with the Government’s roadmap to reopen the country. Library buildings will remain closed to public access during this initial phase.

To avail of the new service, contact Westmeath Libraries on 044 933 2162 or email [email protected] and inform of your particular reading interests. Relevant staff personnel will then make a selection for you.

You will be allocated a collection time to pick up your books, audiobooks or dvds from a designated area at the library entrance. Please remember to bring your own bag and remember to maintain social distance and stay safe.

If you are cocooning and unable to call in to the library, please let the library staff know and they will liaise with volunteers from Westmeath Community Development to arrange delivery of your items to your home.

There are no fines or fees to access the library service, and the onlineservice is also available with ebooks, eaudiobooks, digital magazines and newspapers, as well as online learning. For more information on this please see www.westmeathcoco.ie/LibOnline

This may be a limited service but it is the first step on the road back.
