Athlone singer/songwriter, Shaun Fox, this week expressed his immense gratitude to all those who contributed towards the raising of significant funds to be afforded to the hospital frontline fight against COVID-19.
His song 'United As One' which featured the collaborative prowess of eighteen local talented musicians was released on numerous streaming platforms and courtesy of donations on the relevant gofundme fundraising page, a sum of €6,000 was realised.
These much needed funds will now be allocated to five hospitals as the pandemic persists, namely Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe, Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar, Mater Hospital, Cork University Hospital and Donegal Community Hospital.
Speaking to the Athlone Advertiser this week, Shaun lauded the incredible support for the 'United As One' fundraising project following its launch.
"The support for the project has been incredible and to everyone who played a part from production, sharing and donating, thank you so so much!
"To witness the reception the song has received has been a source of great pride to all involved in this project and we will be eternally grateful. The donations will provide a great deed of help to all those who need it most," Shaun enthused.
