Express parcel delivery company DPD Ireland, formerly Interlink, was on the move recently in Westmeath. The Westmeath depot moved from the Clara Road, Moate to the Midlands Gateway Business Park in Kilbeggan. The depot has been operated by Carol Claffey and Joe Christal for the past three years.
“We made the move as we had outgrown our old premises and wanted to operate more efficiently,” said Carol.
“Last year was a huge year for the company as we rebranded from Interlink to DPD and implemented a €2.5m upgrade of our scanner technology. Even in the current challenging times for businesses it is important to continually look for ways to improve our service and deliver better value to our customers.”
DPD Ireland provides next-day parcel delivery services around Ireland and also offers competitive rates to the UK and Europe. The Westmeath depot is one of 38 in the network, making DPD Ireland’s largest express parcel delivery company, operating since 1986. The company’s main sortation hub is located in Athlone Business Park on the Dublin Road.
