With revenue streams declining due to the detrimental impact of COVID-19, Athlone Community Radio have announced a novel fundraising initiative, 'The Show Must Go On', to take place on the local airwaves this Saturday night.
Laden with live entertainment, the initiative will also offer listeners the opportunity to donate towards keeping the 'on air' lights on at the popular radio station.
"Well known local DJ Pete Casey will host the on air concert with more than twenty local musicians, in aid of your local not for profit community radio station. The concert, from 8-10pm, can be listened to on 88.4fm and can be viewed on the Athlone Community Radio facebook page.
"So this Saturday evening, join Pete as we hear from artists far and wide, from Lough Ree to London and from Sarsfield Square to Sheffield to ensure 'The Show Must Go On'.
