Joan O’Meara, Director of the multi-award winning Allure Hair and Beauty Salon and Midlands College in Tullamore, is lending her fulsome support to business colleagues nationally and globally affording her advice as the industry prepares to reopen to customers during the phased plans announced by the Government.
Uniting personnel is a skill Joan naturally boasts and with the Salon Director being an educator, assessor, businesswomen and hairdressing coach, she decided to provide free relevant content to aid and help salon owners as they prepare for a return to work.
Joan has established a group named ‘Salons in COVID-19’ on Facebook and in since its inception, she now has 430 salons involved, not only In Ireland but worldwide and the number continues to grow.
“The feedback from the hair, beauty, barber and spa industries has been fantastic. They are loving the group, content and support. They are all sharing content and friendships have formed and grown,” Joan remarked.
Some salon owners have acknowledged that Joan has saved them as they were so lonely and considering closing down as they were so alone. Now they are motivated, engaged and re-building through business ideas harnessed from the group. They have support.
The group allows salon owners a safe place for them to air their concerns, worries, issues, success and to also learn from Joan and each and every member in the group on all areas of business during and post COVID-19.
“Mental health is a predominant factor in our daily lives at this time factor and it is great to see salon owners coming together,” Joan commented.
