As the long summer nights usher in, Tuar Ard Arts Centre in Moate has a wealth of live entertainment in store, should relevant restrictions pertaining to the present COVID-19 public health crisis be lifted.

James Kilbane Presents James Kilbane’s Irish Night

On Saturday May 30, James Kilbane presents James Kilbane’s Irish Night, a performance of Irish ballads, folk, and wonderful traditional music.

Kilbane is a multi-gold and platinum-selling artist with thirteen albums to his name. Kilbane grew up singing in Irish folk bands from the age of 12 years and is steeped in Irish music.

Irish music and ballads have always been a cornerstone of his music work alongside country music. Kilbane’s Irish Night has enjoyed great success in Westport, County Mayo over the past three years as a summer season show, and is now on tour across the country.

The Irish night celebrates many great ballads like The Fields of Athenry, Grace, Go Lassie Go, The Town I Love So Well, and so many more.

Kilbane is joined by award-winning musicians John Flatley and traditional great young Cian McNamara who will all be delivering a lively night of honest, good Irish music that makes this a show not to be missed!

Rosemount GAA Social Initiative Presents The Bealtaine Variety Concert

On Tuesday, May 26, join the Rosemount GAA Social Initiative for this year’s Bealtaine Concert, a very special evening of entertainment, music and song featuring a host of talent carefully selected by Rosemount GAA Social Initiative. Refreshments will be served at 6.30pm in the coffee shop prior to the show which commences at 7.30pm. Tickets, priced €5, can be purchased by ringing Tuar Ard box office on 090 6482042.

Lyngo Theatre Presents Puss in Boots

On Saturday May 23, an evening of family entertainment will grace the Tuar Ard stage when Lyngo Theatre presents Puss in Boots.

Would you trust a talking cat? You never know, he might turn you from a pauper to a prince just like the hero of this story, brought to vivid life on our incredible sloping stage. Using smoke and mirrors and hidden trapdoors we’ll show you how this sure-footed feline fools both the King and the Ogre to take his master all the way to the top.

With a host of puppets, a working windmill, and an avalanche of fruit and nuts, come and see this classic furry tail – it’s the cat’s whiskers!
