Numerous key events announced for Local Enterprise Week

A number of prime events focusing on entrepreneurs and small businesses will take place in Athlone during Local Enterprise Week 2020 in March.

An initiative of the Local Enterprise Office (LEO ), numerous attendees are expected at these confirmed events aimed at supporting small businesses and fostering entrepreneurship.

LEO Westmeath formally launched a detailed Enterprise Week programme of events from March 2-6 inclusive with topics of interest certain to appeal to those within the small business and entrepreneurial environments.

The week is an opportunity for small businesses and entrepreneurs to sample the range of supports that are on offer from their Local Enterprise Office related to a whole host of areas.

This schedule of events include seminars and training covering financial supports, networking, Brexit support, LEAN and advisory clinics on areas such as finance, website, marketing and more. International Women’s Day will also be celebrated with a regional Women-In-Business network event.

“Local Enterprise Week is a chance for small businesses and for those possible future start-ups to see the full range of supports out there for them. No matter what their business challenge or sector the Local Enterprise Offices will be putting on events for everyone, be it LEAN workshops, trading online, sales and marketing, customs procedures, mastering social media, or simply, how to start a business, then it will be covered. It is also a great chance to network and broaden your connections in business so use it to the advantage of your business, or business idea,” Christine Charlton, Head of Enterprise in Westmeath County Council, commented.

On Tuesday, March 3, a finance advisory clinic, offering one-on-one appointments with finance and taxation expert John Dempsey who can advise on issues or queries facing your business in these areas will take place in the Athlone Civic Centre, while on Wednesday, March 4, an information seminar entitled ‘Lean – How to streamline your processes and purchasing power’, which will focus on lean tools and techniques and how they are helping businesses across all sectors achieve efficiencies and savings and increase productivity, will be hosted in the Radisson Blu Hotel from 12.30-2.30pm.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, March 5, ‘Here to help your business succeed’, a lunch time briefing event for small businesses on the supports available to them, including presentations from the Local Enterprise Office, Intreo and MicroFinance Ireland is scheduled to take place in The Shamrock Lodge Hotel from 12.30-2.30pm.

Also on this day, digital marketing expert, Joanna O’Brien, will be available to advise on issues or queries pertaining to your business as she affords the opportunity to have an in-depth small business and entrepreneur website review. This session is by appointment only and is hosted in the Athlone Civic Centre.

Throughout Enterprise Week, interested personnel can avail of the opportunity to book a meeting with a member of the LEO Westmeath team to discuss their business one-to-one and find out about the supports and services available to help grow and expand business. Also taking place in the Athlone Civic Centre, an appointment time will be afforded to perspective clients.
