AOIFE to host pertinent festival and community events seminar occasion

Festivals and community event committees from organisations such as the Athlone River Festival, Athlone Drama Festival, Moate Agricultural Show and their Midlands counterparts have been invited to participate in an engagement programme of events in the Enterprise and Technology Centre Ballinasloe, on Saturday, February 29.

Under the guidance of AOIFE (Association of Festival and Events ), the programme is also suitable for community groups or sporting groups who wish to launch or promote a new festival or community event for their area.

AOIFE’s Executive Director Colm Croffy, who has twenty five years sector experience and delivers training and mentoring programmes in Ireland, Europe and overseas is the key facilitator to the day which commences at 10.30am and continues to 5.30pm.

The multimedia assistant will also be hosting fifteen minute ‘one to ones’ with regard to social media for those who struggle with the challenges of online usage.

Having delivered some 130 odd pop-up advice clinics this year already along the wild Atlantic Way, the seminar will draw upon some exciting and innovative ways typical festival and event organisers with extremely limited resources are programming and producing their programmes.

Founded in 1993, the Association of Irish Festivals and Events Association, is the fourth largest in Europe (with over 200 members ) and through training networking and advocating best practice helps “not for profit festivals” reach and expand their local and international goals.
