The Athlone branch of Barnardos Ireland received a welcome charitable donation of €1,000 from local landscape artist, Anna Boles, the proceeds from sales of her Athlone 2020 calendar.
Speaking following the cheque presentation, Anna stressed the importance of the Barnardos charity to the local community.
“Twenty five percent of each Athlone 2020 calendar sold was donated directly to the local branch of Barnardos. Barnardos Athlone is a huge asset to the local community and the ongoing work they do to help children living with difficulties, struggles or anxiety is simply amazing.
“I would like to express a deep sense of gratitude to all those who supported the charity by purchasing my Athlone 2020 calendar. I would also like to afford a special word of thanks to all the local businesses who stocked and sold the calendars on my behalf, namely Athlone Post Office at the Town Centre, Ganlys Athlone Longford and Mountbellew, Burgess, Savoury Fare at Fernhill Garden Centre Athlone, Athlone Chiropractic Care, The Bastion Gallery, Midland Photo Shop, Beans and Leaves and Starbucks.
Finally, I would also like to declare my appreciation to the amazing ladies of Barnardos, Jackie Keogh and Catherine. Their consistent work and support is inspiring,” Anna enthused.
