The perennially popular annual Athlone Sub Aqua Club fundraising event, 'Dip with a Nip' returns on St. Stephen's Day on the shores of Lough Ree at Hodson Bay.
With 'dipping' to commence at 1.30pm, this is a no fee, no booking charity event, with participants encouraged to make a worthy donation to the Athlone Sub Aqua Club cause on the day.
Much needed warm refreshments on the form of mulled wine will be provided post 'dip'. Speaking with regard to the fundraising event, Athlone Sub Aqua Club PRO, Cormac Nott, noted that numbers for the annual 'Dip with a Nip' occasion continue to rise.
"What started out as a club fundraising occasion has now turned into a local tradition with families and friends meeting up each year to take the dip! Last year we we had in excess of forty swimmers taking the plunge and are hoping that a similar number, if not more, participates, on St. Stephen's Day this year," Cormac enthused.
