Time for pantomine with the Kiltoom Drama Group

As 2019 draws to a conclusion, Kiltoom Drama Group are preparing to stamp their mark on the year as they finalise rehearsals for their exciting forthcoming production.

With a decorated background of highly successful productions, they are expected to gain much plaudits down with the fun and frivolity of ‘Once Upon A Time’.

Written by Paul Barron and Sarah Dyson. this pantomime is directed by Tom Blaine and May Cunningham with Rebecca Ryan directing the children and Tommy Healy providing the musical direction.

Evil is about to be banished from Pantoland thanks to the wedding of Cinderella’s daughter (Eabha Crehan ) and Snow White’s son (Shane Keenan ). The wicked queen Evelyn (Debbie Kilbride ), sets out to stop the wedding by transporting Princess Lottie (Eabha Crehan ) and her two assistants, Nick (Donie Hamrock ) and Nack (Maeve O’Reilly ), to the far reaches of Pantoland. Prince Marvellous (Shane Keenan ), his friend Jack (Della Sammon ) and the cook Gertie (Dermot Fitzgerald ), set off to save her. Along the way, they both meet various characters from different stories as they try to find each other and finally go through with their wedding.

Remaining characters are played by Sinead Morris, Ann Toohey, John Stack, John McGrath, Ann Fallon, Lisa Nugent, Francisco Vinas and Pat Warby.

A ‘laugh a minute’ is guaranteed as local jokes and other witty innuendo are added to the mix while the fifth and sixth class children of the parish provide plenty of song and dance for your enjoyment.

The performances take place in Ballybay Hall, Kiltoom, from Thursday, December 12 to Sunday, December 15, with curtain up at 8pm. There will also be a matinee performance on Sunday, December 15, at 3pm.

Tickets will be on sale in Ballybay Hall after Mass in Kiltoom on the weekend December 7 and 8. Additionally, tickets may be ordered by phone on 0892163072. Booking is strongly advised.
