Treatment plant upgrade to deliver economic benefits

Fine Gael Councillor, John Naughten, has highlighted the benefits the upgrade of the waste water treatment plant in Monksland can deliver for the area.

“This upgrade, which is the result of an investment of €2m, will contribute to both the economic and residential development of the area in the future,” Cllr. Naughten commented.

The project is expected to be completed in early 2020 and will modernise the waste water treatment process.

In addition, it will allow the plant to handle peak flows and manage storm water overflows more effectively and provide for the continued expansion of Monksland and its surrounding area, outlined Cllr. Naughten.
