Athlone Musical Society are delighted to announce their upcoming auditions for their 2020 production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
"It’s the story based on the 'coat of many colours' and is a tale that follows the journey of a dreamer. Joseph is the son of Jacob and one of twelve brothers, so as you can imagine this show requires a lot of men," Athlone MS PRO, Angelina Treglia, detailed.
This particular show unlike others, is suitable for a multitude of musical genres, spanning from country and western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock and roll.
This musical was first produced in 1973 and has been staged worldwide and will arrive at the Bord Gáis theatre in the next few weeks. Athlone Musical Society have long awaited the performing rights for this show and the news that they had received same was very welcome.
Athlone MS Chairperson, Joan Larkin, recalls many an application for this particular musical and was very excited to spread the news amongst membership when it arrived.
This musical lends itself to many roles, both male and female. So if you want to fill in those dark winter nights, come join Athlone Musical Society for their forthcoming production. Show dates in the Dean Crowe Theatre are Saturday, February 29 to Saturday, March 7 2020, inclusive (excluding Wednesday, March 4 2020 ).
