Taper time as Rosemount half marathon in sight

Following the success of the inaugural event in 2018, Rosemount GAA will host their half marathon and 10k races on Saturday, October 12.

On a challenging but fair route, which incorporates the old rail trail, runners will enjoy the South Westmeath countryside as local support dots the course encouraging all half marathon participants as they thread the camber.

A chipped and timed event which is registered with the Athletics Association of Ireland, the Rosemount half marathon is the ideal preparation for those runners participating in the Dublin City marathon at the end of October s those competing commence their training taper runs.

For those race enthusiasts that opt for a shorter distance there is also the option of a 10k route. Incorporating a portion of the half marathon route, large numbers are expected in the tight knit community on the morning of both races with a 10am start for the half marathon, while the 10k race is under starter’s orders at 10.30am.

There is a race medal and t-shirt for all participants, with shower facilities and a sumptuous post race food and hot drinks spread hosted in the community hall. Intending participants can now register online at rosemounthalfmarathon.ie or call Claire on 0857860181 for further information.
