A second restaurant opened by McDonalds in the Athlone locality will see over seventy personnel employed, providing a significant boost to the local economy.
Situated in the Circle K M6 Athlone services station, between Junctions 7 and 8, and offering seating for up to 85 people, a total of €750,000 has been invested in the new venture.
Operated by franchisee Seamus Rawle, who is the proprietor of five additonal McDonald’s restaurants at Athlone Creggan Roundabout, Cavan Dublin Road, N4 Axis Retail Park Longford and Pearse Street, Mullingar, the McDonald’s Athlone restaurant features self-order kiosks, free phone charging stations, iPads for children and will also provide table service to its customers.
“I am very excited to open this new restaurant in Athlone and we look forward to welcoming customers through our doors. It is important that our customers can access the best family-friendly facilities and services on offer and this new restaurant in Athlone provides that in abundance. The restaurant features self-order kiosks which will allow customers to make more personalised food choices. Most importantly, we will serve made-to-order meals using the best quality ingredients, in the most efficient time possible,” Seamus enthused.
McDonalds Athlone will operate 24 hours, seven days per week and akin to all the company’s restaurants across Ireland, the beef, bacon, milk, water and eggs served on site will be 100 percent irish.
