Aidan Cowan and Kevin Walsh have claimed the Audi Athlone regional heat of the prestigious Audi quattro Cup, held at Glasson Golf Club.
The pair topped the leader board after 18 holes with a final score of 42 points, 24 points on the back nine in a fiercely contested heat of this year’s Audi quattro Cup qualifying heats.
A total of 88 golfers in 44 teams played the spectacular Glasson golf course in the Audi Athlone quattro Cup regional heat event.

The six highest ranking teams in each qualifying heat, including the winning pair, progress to the national final of the premium brand’s amateur golf tournament. This year’s Audi quattro Cup national final will be held at Powerscourt Hotel and Golf Club, Wicklow on Thursday, August 22.
The overall winning team at the national final will represent Ireland on the world-famous Golfclub Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee course in Kitzbühel, Austria at the Audi quattro Cup World Final from September 22 to 26. The world final will see the victorious Irish pairing tee off against 40 participating countries. The Audi quattro Cup tournament welcomes approximately more than 80,000 golfers globally, making it the largest amateur golfing tournament in the world.
