Cllr John Naughten has welcomed surface drainage works carried out by the Roscommon County Council in Monksland.
It was confirmed at a recent meeting of the Athlone Municipal District that the works had been carried out on the road servicing the Danesfort, Daneshill, and Cluain Broc estates.
Cllr Naughten said; “It was also proposed that resurfacing works would be carried out on this section of road which is welcome news.”
He also confirmed that a yellow box junction would be installed on the new Tuam road which would improve access to the estates for local residents. He said; “These works are very welcome and will greatly improve access for those living in these estates.”
He also welcomed the resurfacing works which have taken place recently at Curraghmore, Kiltoom. “This is a heavily populated road which was in a poor state of repair and I am delighted that resurfacing works have been carried out at this location to improve the road surface for motorists as well as those walking and cycling in the area.”
