Affordable homes showcase evening

A free affordable homes showcase evening is being held by Westmeath County Council for first time buyers interested in purchasing an affordable home. The showcase evening will take place in the Mullingar Park Hotel on Wednesday April 15 from 5pm to 9pm.

This showcase evening is a great opportunity for first time buyers and those interested in finding out more about the affordable housing scheme. Housing advisors will be present from Westmeath County Council and the Affordable Homes Partnership to provide advice on eligibility criteria and the application process, as well as to showcase the affordable homes currently available in the Westmeath area.  Financial institutions will also be present to provide on-the-spot mortgage assessments.

A wide variety of affordable homes are currently available within Westmeath, in Mullingar, Kinnegad, Moate, Kilbeggan, and Clonmellon.  The homes available include three bed detached and terraced houses and three and four bed semi-detached houses. All affordable homes are provided at a discount to the market value.

A house purchased under the affordable housing scheme must be owner occupied. Affordable homes are for first time buyers but separated or divorced applicants may also qualify. You do not need to be on the current affordable housing list to be considered as an application can be made at the showcase evening or after the event.

The showcase evening takes place in the Mullingar Park Hotel, Mullingar on Wednesday April 15 from 5pm to 9pm.
