Gardai are continuing their investigations into an accident which occurred on the M6 motorway westbound between Moate and Athlone at 12.15am on Monday morning.
A motorcyclist in his 30s from the Midlands remains in a critical but stable condition in Tullamore General Hospital following the incident.
Speaking to the Athlone Advertiser, Sergeant Andrew Haran, noted that the motorway was closed to traffic following the accident for forensic examination and investigations are presently ongoing.
