Well known antique auctioneers Matthews of Oldcastle will conduct a two day clearance of the contents of Our Lady Queen of Peace Convent and Nursing Home on Tuesday and Friday next.
Recently sold, the property is due for major refurbishment by Orwell Private, a Dublin-based healthcare company.
Over 1,000 lots are to be cleared over the two days, amongst them antiques, garden statuary, medical items. The auction will also include the contents of a fine nearby residence on Temple Road, also recently sold.
The contents of this property have been removed to the convent for sale.
With estimates ranging from €20 to €1,500, and many to be sold without reserve, “it’s a tremendous opportunity for those collecting on a budget, landlords and nursing home owners, definitely a sale worth attending”, notes the auctioneer, Damien Matthews.
The auction, to be held in the convent, is just off Garville Avenue, Rathgar, Dublin 6, and will be well signposted on the viewing days. Public viewing begins this weekend from Saturday morning at 11am.
