Mitsubishi to unveil enhanced style 2020 ASX compact SUV

Mitsubishi will globally unveil the 2020 model year ASX compact SUV at the Geneva International Motor Show next month.

Since its launch in 2009, the ASX has sold around 1.32 million units overall in around 90 countries and currently it is Mitsubishi’s third highest selling vehicle.

The new model’s exterior design has undergone a major overhaul under what the Japanese manufacturer describes as a design philosophy of “robust and ingenious” which serves as an expression of their global tagline “Drive your Ambition.”

Mitsubishi states that the ASX is a compact SUV offering wide-ranging versatility that makes it perfect for everything from everyday use to exciting adventures. Its lightweight, compact body, combined with SUV’s commanding driver sight lines give the ASX excellent handling and easy drivability.

For European markets, the ASX is powered by a 2.0L MIVEC 2, 16-valve engine mated to either a five-speed manual transmission, or a CVT with six-speed sports mode. Both two and four-wheel-drive versions are available.

The ASX also delivers reassurance and safety, with features including the ‘Rise’ impact safety body and a Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM ) braking system. It also features the Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control system and their Intelligent and Innovative Vehicle Electronics Control System.

Inside, the size of the display has been increased from seven to eight inches. Videos stored on USB memory sticks can also now be viewed on the SDA screen.

The Smartphone-link Display Audio (SDA ) has also been improved, and now offers more advanced connectability.
