Grace and Scott capture hearts of a nation on the Late Late Toy Show

An ever so apt conclusion to the Late Late Toy Show on Friday night as Athlone cousins, Grace and Scott Lowe, together with their mothers, Bernie and Arlene, told the nation of their heartwarming and emotional connection.

Double cousins, it was Scott who donated bone marrow to Grace at this time last year as he informed host Ryan Tubridy, “because I wanted to save her life.”

Grace was suffering from leukemia and now one year on, has started her educational journey at St. Paul’s National School.

The story most definitely captured the hearts and minds of the nation with social media heavily laden with footage and positive commentary with regard to the Lowe family following their live television appearance.

During their discussion with Ryan, Scott, an avid rugby fan, was introduced to Irish trio, Rob Kearney, Sean O’Brien and Tadhg Furlong, who invited both cousins to the Aviva Stadium in March for Ireland’s clash with France in the Six Nations.

To round off a memorable night on the perennially popular Toy Show, which was viewed by in excess of 1.3 million people, the family en masse were presented with a thoroughly deserved holiday to Disneyworld in Orlando - as smiles adorned both Grace and Scott’s faces, it was clear for all to see that the two cousins have found a place in the hearts of a nation.

Enjoy the holiday Grace and Scott - a magical destination and wishing you and your families a happy Christmas and healthy New Year!
