Midlands schools meals company awarded coveted accreditation

Midlands based Freshtoday has been awarded the coveted Q Mark accreditation for hygiene and food safety in business excellence, the standard that reviews all aspects of a company’s performance and commitment to hygiene and food safety on an annual basis.

The Q Mark for hygiene and food safety is aligned to the latest Irish, European and International standards. It is recognised by the FSAI (Food Safety Authority of Ireland ) and SafeFood. The standard has been endorsed by the EOQ (European Organisation for Quality ).

Commencing from humble beginnings in 2010 and serving just two schools, Freshtoday now employs more than 70 staff between Longford and Dublin catering for over 18,000 students every day from their purpose built facility.

Freshtoday now delivers local produce to in excess of 110 schools, including Athlone and the Midlands region,from its suitably enhanced production facility.

The importance of consistently providing healthy, nutritious lunches every day to schools across the country has seen Freshtoday’s market share significantly increase year on year.
