Part-Time.ie targets the flexible market

A new website specialising in part-time jobs has launched in Galway and aims to make it much easier for employers and candidates to connect in the flexible market. Part-time.ie was launched earlier this year by Jane Downes, a chartered accountant, and operates from the Portershed, in Galway city, thanks to sponsorship by AIB. “I have worked part-time myself for the last 10 years,” she said. “The flexible roles are already there but the market is largely offline. Part-time.ie offers employers the opportunity to advertise roles to a wider, more relevant, audience and in turn find suitable, quality candidates.”

Currently 450,000 people work part-time in Ireland. That is equivalent to one in five of the workforce. With latest CSO and IBEC reports suggesting the country is close to full employment, it is predicted that economic growth will slow down as employers are unable to fill roles. Part-time.ie gives employers access to a huge pool of talent across all sectors, including students and parents who are ready to step back into the workplace if a shorter working week is available. “We also have lots of candidates, at every level, currently working full-time who want to remain working but are looking for greater flexibitity,” Ms Downes added.

Employers who have used the site find the quality of applicants very good, with many who have advertised on more established sites, only shortlisting from Part-time.ie A launch offer price of €50 is still available, or email [email protected] for details of packages.

As we reach full employment, it is critical that we attract as many people into the workforce as possible and sites like Part-time.ie will make this happen.
