Hodson Bay Hotel host victorious Republic of Ireland football squad

The prestigious Hodson Bay Hotel in Athlone hosted the Under 19 Republic of Ireland football squad and their counterparts ahead of the recent UEFA Under 19 European Championship fixtures at Longford Town’s Calling stadium.

Together with the home nation, squads from the Netherlands, Bosnia & Herzegovina and the Faroe Islands took up residence in the four star hotel as they competed at the midlands stadium.

Expressing his delight that such football talent had graced the hotel, James Mannion, Duty Manager, Hodson Bay Hotel, noted that the requirements of all the squads were well catered for at the hotel and looked forward to welcoming them back in the future, FAI representative, Joanne Martin, expressed similar sentiments with regard to accommodation hosts.

The Irish squad ended the tournament triumphantly beating the Dutch in the final fixture following wins over Bosnia & Herzegovina and Faroe Islands.
