Pieta House Athlone runner puts best innovative fundraising foot forward

In tandem with the Pieta House ‘Feelgood Week’ initiative week, from October 20-27 inclusive, a local employee of the non-profit organisation is putting his best fundraising foot forward as he has been running 5k a day since September 1, culminating in a fun run on the AIT track, courtesy of Athlone Running Club, to take place at 6.30pm on Friday, October 26.

With his running endeavours, Gerard Tiernan aims to promote positive mental health awareness with all funds raised going towards enhancing the supportive work provided by Pieta House, which first opened its doors in 2006.

Designed to help people #FindtheFeeling through a nationwide campaign of wellness, mindfulness, active, social and fun events, the ‘Feelgood Week’ initiative follows closely after World Mental Health Day which was on October 10.

All are welcome to AIT track to support the fundraising initiative with haunted forest and fancy dress prizes on offer to those of a creative running nature.
