Hodson Bay Hotel Wins Connaught Carvery of the Year

At the recent Unilever Knorr Great Carvery awards ceremony, the Hodson Bay Hotel was confirmed as the Gold Medal Winner for the ‘Best Hotel Carvery’ across the province of Connaught.

This is the second occasion in recent years that the Hodson Bay Hotel has been awarded this accolade. Speaking to the Westmeath Independent, a delighted Executive Chef Gavin O’Rourke said, “the team at Hodson Bay really deserve this. Their team approach and commitment from kitchen to carvery is second to none. Capability together with great attitude makes for a great recipe. I’m also delighted for our local suppliers. We work closely with local suppliers whose produce features day in day out on the carvery menu”.

Tim Hayes, Managing Director at the Hodson Bay Hotel, also expressed his immense satisfaction with the award.

“Our goal is to serve great tasting food every day. Our head chefs across the Hodson Bay Hotel, the Galway Bay and the Sheraton Athlone Hotel continuously discuss their ideas on how to improve the menu with each season. Providing very high quality food to our local and visiting customers is a key part of our success and we are thrilled to be recognised for this with the Unilever Knorr Carvery of the Year award”.
