DPD, whose central hub is in Athlone, has been announced as a finalist in the ‘Retail Supplier of the Year’ 2019 awards.
Retail Excellence, the largest retail industry representative body in Ireland, nominated the progressive parcel delivery company as one of their Top5 finalists.
The list comprises suppliers involved in every aspect of retail services. Last year’s winner was digital marketing agency Wolfgang Digital. This year the five finalists include logistics company DPD, consumer finance provider Flexi Fi, cash automation business Glory, Digital and Tech provider MJ Flood Technology and electricity supplier Pinergy.
The Supplier of the Year Award is part of the Retail Excellence Awards programme and aims to promote best practice and encourage high standards of service in the industry. This year’s awards are backed by AIB Merchant Services.
The Top5 Finalists will be invited to a meeting with a judging panel in Dublin in October and will present to a host of retail experts on why they deserve to be crowned Supplier of the Year 2019.
Commenting on the announcement of the finalists, Head of Commercial at Retail Excellence, Keelan Bourke said, “I’m delighted to see such a high standard of suppliers enter across a wide range of categories from packaging, digital marketing to retail technology and support services like stocktaking.
“The standard set by the Top5 finalists demonstrates how exemplary strategic services can actively increase the bottom line for Irish retailers. I would like to offer my sincere congratulations to the successful finalists who will now go forward to the next stage of the process when they meet with the judging panel in October.”
The winner will be announced at a black-tie awards banquet which will take place in the Malton Hotel, Killarney on Saturday November 10.
