The 2009 IPPA Happy Faces Day takes place on Wednesday April 1 with Athlone’s Corin Bishop Photography participating in the annual nationwide fundraising project organised by the Irish Professional Photographers Association benefiting Temple Street Children’s University Hospital.
This is the fourth successive year of the initiative by the association in support of Irish charities. Members of the public are encouraged to visit their local IPPA photographer Corin Bishop at Athlone’s Towncentre, and have a professional portrait taken for just €25.
As all the photographers involved are providing their services free of charge, all of this money will go towards the goal of raising €60,000 for a much-needed incubator for the neo-natal unit at Temple Street Children’s University Hospital. In addition to helping raise the essential funds, everyone who participates will receive a beautifully presented portrait. Furthermore, a number of portrait images taken on the day will be selected and featured in a 2010 calendar and sold nationwide at €10 each with all proceeds of sales again going to contributing to the goal fund of €60,000.
This is an opportunity to help a charity, have a fun experience, and create a lasting memory at the same time. The IPPA is hoping that the public will really enjoy what this event has to offer and that people of all ages will visit their photographers.
Corin Bishop Photography will be working from Athlone’s Towncentre on April from 10.30am to 5.30pm. They would love to see grandparents as well as children, students, and teenagers have their portraits taken. Companies are strongly urged to take part too.
“This is a great opportunity to give something back to the public and for such a great cause. We are encouraging people of all ages to participate by offering special prizes for the happiest face, it’s a fun day and we hope to have a good turnout to support this charity. For just €25 you get a professional portrait from an award-winning photographer and every cent goes to charity,” said Corin.
