The Athlone Springs Hotel has announced its sponsorship of a superb competition for fifth and sixth class students in Athlone and the surrounding areas.
The competition prize features an all expenses paid school tour for the winning class to the Volvo Ocean Race stopover taking place in Galway in June. The prize includes access to the quayside VIP area and meeting with a crew member. There is also a fabulous teacher’s prize to be won.
“This will be an excellent opportunity for schools in Athlone to compete for a great day out to Galway and meet with the crew of the Volvo Ocean Race and see what’s involved in sailing around the world,” says Martin Daly, general manager of Athlone Springs. “Access to the VIP area is only granted to a select few and we have been fortunate to be able offer this to the winning class,” Mr Daly added.
