Athlone native Carty ready to sting Wasps

A return to the hallowed turf of Dubarry Park awaits Jack Carty on Saturday afternoon as he dons the out half jersey for his first senior appearance for Connacht on home soil.

Speaking ahead of this eagerly anticipated friendly clash, the former Marist College student is looking forward to the Wasps' challenge noting that pre-saeason preparations have been progressing smoothly under the watchful eye of new head coach Andy Friend.

"There has been a seamless transition with regard to Andy's appointment and his attention to detail during our pre-season preparations has been of the highest quality. He is building an impressive positive culture within the squad and the level of competition for places can only be of benefit to the team throughout the season ahead," the out half commented.

Carty previously togged for the Connacht Eagles in Dubarry Park almost five years ago and is relishing the opportunity to play in front of a home crowd.

"Obviously, I am looking forward to the game on Saturday. It will be my first senior game for Connacht in Dubarry Park and against an opposition who will provide a stern test. I have had a good couple of run ins against Wasps previously, so I am hoping to come out the right side of the result this weekend," Carty enthused.
