PhoneWatch, Ireland’s leading provider of home safety systems has announced it will give €75 off the cost of installing a monitored PhoneWatch alarm system to those 126,000 people qualifying for the new Telephone Support Allowance introduced by the Department of Social Protection.
The Telephone Support Allowance (TSA ) came into effect on June 4 and is a support payment of €2.50 per week aimed at people who live alone and receive certain other payments from the department.
Eoin Dunne, CEO of PhoneWatch said; “The TSA is an important initiative by the government aimed at preventing social isolation and protecting the most vulnerable in our society and is intended to help with the cost of the telephone and/or installing a monitored alarm."
Mr Dunne expressed that this gives peace of mind to older homeowners and their families which is vital for those involved.
