Barnardos launch local volunteer drive in Athlone

Barnardos, the children's charity who campaign for the rights of all children and work with vulnerable children and their families throughout the country is calling on the people of Athlone to support their national collection day on Friday, September 14.

With three centres in Westmeath, Barnardo's, kindly supported by Dell, require valuable volunteers to shake a bucket or join an instore bag pack for just two hours. People can register here: www.barnardos.ie/buckets Barnardo's have detailed four locations in Athlone where people can assist during the national collection day. Operating in two hour shifts (from 8am to 9pm ), volunteers can give of their time at Dunnes Stores, Irishtown and Montree, the Athlone Towncentre and Golden Island shopping centre.

Barnardos seeks to transform the lives of children in Ireland by providing services to help them meet their milestones and get ready for school, by providing family supports to those facing challenges such as poverty and homelessness and by helping parents to create a better home life for their children.
