Peugeot has recorded the strongest growth in the Irish new car market at 53 percent for the first six months of 2018, as demand for the range continues to soar.
The success comes on the back of sales of the multi-award-winning Peugeot 3008 SUV, Irish car of the year 2018 and the much-sought after new 5008 seven seat SUV.
Peugeot vans maintained their number five market position with a 6.7percent share. The strong car sales growth placed the Peugeot marque in the overall top ten league, delivering a 4.6 percent overall market share, cars and vans combined.
Mr. Des Cannon, Managing Director at Gowan Distributors, Peugeot Importers in Ireland, said, 'despite a slight contract in the new car market, I am delighted to report our growth of 53 percent in the first six months of the year. Our excellent SUV line-up, together with our five year warranty and attractive low-cost finance options across the range, has most certainly attracted conquest sales.'
He continued: “The all-important July 182-registration period is now upon us and our customer orders across the Peugeot dealer network are extremely healthy. We look forward now to continued growth in the second half of the year and beyond, thanks to the pending arrival of the new Rifter mini-MPV and the radical new 508 in late 2018.'
