South Westmeath Hospice overwhelmed with public response to Sunflower Day

The South Westmeath Hospice have been overwhelmed by the response to their annual Sunflower Day which took place last Thursday, Friday and Saturday at shops and supermarkets all around Athlone.

Over 500 sunflowers were supplied by Fernhill for the fundraiser. Speaking about the event Clare McNally, Vice-Chairperson of the Hospice said, “our Sunflower Day was a great success this year. Syra and her team in Fernhill Garden Centre did a superb job providing the sunflowers and we are indebted to our wonderful team of volunteers who gave up so much of their time to assist us over two days. Without their support it wouldn’t have been as successful as it was.”

Clare continued, “the South Westmeath Hospice Sunflower Day raised much need funds to provide our vital services - person centered, holistic and loving care to our patients and their loved ones. All the money raised locally stays local.”

The Hospice wish to thank all those who fundraised and donated to such an amazing cause over the past weekend.
