Summer styles for less at Simon Charity Shop

The temperamental and untimely Irish summer is finally here after months of miserable weather.

From small corners of the attic to misshapen boxes at the back of the wardrobe, it is time to start searching for some summer fashion looks. But, where do you begin?

Although everyone wants to get gorgeous summer wear, the clothing in the high street stores can be quite pricey considering how little use we get out of them.

It is difficult to spend €50 plus on a summer dress knowing how small a time frame it will be until the rain hits again. Charity shops are a wonderful way to pick up unique summer looks for a great price while the sun is shining.

The pictures shown give a take on four perfect summer looks, all from the Simon Community charity shop in Athlone, and with each outfit costing €20 or less.

The combination of floral shorts, a sleeveless denim jacket and pink halter top offer a bright and comfortable look for a festival or a day exploring the sites, at home or abroad. This outfit costs just €17, necklace included!

The light ensemble mixing turquoise/teal with a light pink colour shows a cute, comfortable summer look. With a Topshop skirt for €6 and a turquoise/teal cardigan from Monsoon for the same price, this outfit is ideal for all skirt and shirt lovers alike.

Following this, the bohemian style of the multi-coloured long sleeved top, lace designed skater skirt and detailed jewellery makes a stunning look for those searching for an alternative fashion style this summer. The light, carefree fashion of the top with the skirt could be worn as a festival look or as a unique, stylish outfit whatever the weather.

Since opening in 2005, the Simon Community Athlone charity shop has been providing amazing styles and essential services to the Midlands region and its residents.

The Simon Community organisation offers care, accommodation and support to those who experience homelessness or who are at risk of losing their homes. Their work delivers help to over 11,000 individuals and families on an annual basis.

“You get a bargain, you pick up items no one else has, there is a lot of variety and there is never two of anything,” said Joanne Murray, the manager of the Simon Community Athlone.

All the outfits shown are available at an amazing price and are perfect for all summer occasions. Charity shopping is a great way to save money, pick up a bargain and help the world around you. For €20 or under, it is a hard deal to pass up.

In regard to the environment and ethical methods of shopping, purchasing items second hand offer an eco-friendly approach to fashion, which is an important point of interest nowadays.

Charity shops are perfect for all ages and sizes and can be especially helpful for any students looking for a bargain. So, do not wait. Visit the Athlone Simon Community charity shop today for some stunning summer outfits for less.
