Paul Marsh headlines Comedy KARLnival at Róisín Dubh

On Tuesday, Paul Marsh will play at the Róisín Dubh along with Cormac Moore, Sean Murphy, and special guest MC Abigoliah Schamaun.

Despite making a later in life arrival to comedy than most, Paul Marsh has made up for his late start by making a massive impact on the Irish comedy scene. Marsh wasted no time and rapidly racked up winners' trophies in some of Ireland's premier new comedy competitions, winning both the Tedfest Toilet Duck Award 2015 and the Capital Comedy Club Competition in Dublin.

He followed up his truly impressive start by going to support some of the biggest names in Irish comedy including Karl Spain, PJ Gallagher, and Neil Delamere. He has now been performing regularly at all the Irish comedy clubs for more than six years as well as being a Kilkenny Cats Laughs and Vodafone Comedy Carnival regular. Marsh is now one of the most in demand acts in Ireland and increasingly in the UK.

Cormac Moore is a comedian and radio presenter with Dublin’s FM104 who has performed all over the world. He is an entertaining, witty, and captivating storyteller who has a natural ability to engage with his audience. His sharp observational style and excellent crowd work mean that no two gigs are ever the same. Moore has also broken Irish radio records when he broadcast for 27 hours straight and has been nominated numerous times at the prestigious Irish radio awards for his comedy sketch writing.

In the last few years Sean Murphy aka Smurphy has been entertaining crowds in Ireland and Europe. Watched by more than a million people on Facts Youtube page, he is also a host of The Thirsty Thursday Show podcast. His natural style, enthusiasm, confidence, and clever delivery draw every audience member in, just to kick them back with a huge laugh. His storytelling, quick wit, and stage presence always make for an exciting show.

And this week’s special guest MC is Abigoliah Schamaun, who is a product of her New York stand up roots; frank, funny, and unapologetic. She first showed her face in the UK comedy scene when she became a finalist in the Funny Women Comedy Awards 2010 and has grown an Edinburgh Fringe following coming back yearly ever since. She moved to London in 2014 and has become a regular on the circuit. She was named One to Watch at Leicester Comedy Festival 2017 and The List named her in the Top 5 Up and Coming Female Comedians.

As the only yoga instructor/comedian in comedy Schamaun presents her always hilarious comedy with an open heart chakra. Bringing her audience into her world with the warmth and excitement like a friend you have not seen in a while.

Her comedy extends past the stage as she was nominated in 2016 for a Malcolm Hardee Cunning Stunt Award for buying an incredible amount of outside advertising and then plastering them with fake reviews poking fun at the usefulness of the critics' words. She has been featured on Comedian’s Comedians Podcast with Stuart Goldsmith, The Guilty Feminist Podcast, and Global Pillage with Deborah Frances White. She also appeared in Comedy Central’s season two of I Live with Models and has opened for Jim Norton, Kyle Kinane, and Gad Elmelah.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at €6 from Róisín Dubh, www.roisindubh.net, or OMG Zhivago, Shop Street, and are priced €8 at the door.

Doors open at 8pm with the show commencing at 8:30pm. Admission includes a free Jager and a free entry to the world-famous silent disco after the show.
