The final 2014 litter survey for 2014 produced by the business group Irish Business Against Litter (IBAL) has seen Ballina retain its status as a clean town, but has seen it drop to 33rd position in the ranking of 40 towns and cities surveyed.
Poor results for Ballina and Castlebar in latest IBAL survey
The latest survey in the Anti-Litter League by business group Irish Business Against Litter (IBAL) shows Ballina and Castlebar have both lost their cleaner than European norms status in this round, with both now classed as moderately littered. Of 42 towns and cities surveyed this summer, Ballina and Castlebar have dropped from fourth and fifth place respectively to 34th and 35th. IBAL has warned that vacant properties in towns are a growing concern, despite continued progress on litter nationwide.
Galway city commended for good impression in litter survey
An Taisce which carried out surveys on behalf of the business group Irish Business Against Litter (IBAL) has commended Galway city for making a good impression and achieving the “good result” of 15th place and deemed ‘Cleaner than European Norms’.
